Our host was very knowledgeable and sat us down and told us about the farm, the demise of the kite population, reintroduction and the success of the kites since then. We then walked up to the hide and were treated to a great display of what we reckoned must have been around 30 red kites swooping and diving for a meal, and also interacting with the magpies and buzzard who also turned up for a feed.

    A really interesting visit for anyone but obviously great if you’re a birdwatcher.

    star rating  A wonderful day spent photographing Red Kites with Lynn giving us a super overview of their history in the UK. We had the option to stay outside on a glorious... read more autumnal day, which gave everyone plenty of space in the sunshine. It was tremendous to see 15-20 birds diving down to pick off pieces of rabbit which had been put out in the field ahead of us. It's all very dramatic, with amazing acrobatics from the birds. 10/10.

    star rating  Niall's on Wheels tour was excellent. Niall's knowledge is entertaining and Impressive, and the different projects are fascinating. Looking forward to a return visit once the beavers are established.

    star rating  I arrived early for my exclusive booking of the Red Kite photography hide. The majestic Red Kites were gliding in the thermals in anticipation of what was to come.... read more I was soon set up in the hide (to mount your gimbal remember to bring your own stand - preferred - or tripod). Then it began. It was just magnificent. I got some unbelievable shots. At times, I put my camera down just to stare in amazement at such a wondrous sight of these magnificent creatures. The hide is perfectly positioned for close-up pictures with a 600mm lens, although; 400mm will do. I met the hosts who were very friendly and enthusiastic. The whole site is clean, tidy and well organised.
    I was lucky in that it was sunny, and being winter, the sun was low in the sky. This gave the birds a lovely warm light on their undersides, and when flying in a certain direction, gave a beautiful glow through their tail feathers.
    For me, it's a 5-hour drive each way to get to the farm. Well worth it. I'm going to have to go again. It would be rude not to.

    star rating  I had the best day today with my friend on my first visit. Seen red squirrels so close and it was an amazing experience.
    Then the red kites flying overhead... read more and there acrobatic display was simply breathtaking!!
    If you have not visited yet then you must do soon trust me when I say you will not be disappointed and seeing nature so close will be a truly memorable day !

    star rating  I booked the photography hide (in advance) for the afternoon feed, Husband and I were well looked after and taken the short walk to the hide which is closer... read more to the feeding area than the usual viewing point. Set up the camera and waiting for the food to be put out,
    The Kites started circling in advance, and then there was a flurry of activity followed by a lull. Then they came back, and it wasn't so frenetic, and I was able to get the best shots I've ever taken of these stupendous birds in flight. There was one who decided this touchdown-grab-go was a waste of time so settled on the grass to eat! Although we'd had dire weather for our two week Scottish holiday it came good for the Argaty visit, which made all the difference,
    Will have to do it again, by which time I will have further improved my skills.
    It helps to have someone with you who, while you stare through the lens, can hive you information about incoming birds and their trajectory!
    I'd recommend Agarty Red Kites for families, but not the photography hide unless the children were really interested.

    star rating  What an amazing and unforgettable experience! We had to cancel at really short notice the previous week due to my son being ill but they were so helpful and understanding... read more about it. When we visited, we got some fantastic views of these beautiful birds. They flew right over our heads - they were so close that we didn't even need binoculars to see the birds in all their glorious detail. We feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to see so many red kites in the wild. On a personal level, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, taking the time to chat to us and our kids. A big thank you to the owner and Ranger volunteer (I'm sorry I've forgotten your names) for making our visit today (21 November) so special and memorable. We'll definitely be back in the future!

    star rating  We booked the wildlife hide for the morning and ride kite photography hide in the afternoon for my partners 40th birthday. We where looked after so well by the team.... read more Little trip in the buggy to the wildlife hide was amazing as well. We felt so lucky to see up to 8 red squirrels, woodpecker and lots of lovely birds as well. Then the afternoon at the red kite hide was just amazing walked up and was made to feel really special by Lynne and all the team there. We also found a crossbill and yellowhammer as well. Please contact the team if you have any questions as they always reply and really looked after us this weekend. Customer service is great. We cannot thank you all for how you looked after us. My partner really enjooyed his 40th birthday. Thanks again. Louise and Rob. Bristol
