Usual visit from wee... read more Kite the friendly red squirrel. Couldn’t recommend this set up more for anyone who loves birds or red squirrels.

  • star rating  I booked the photography hide (in advance) for the afternoon feed, Husband and I were well looked after and taken the short walk to the hide which is closer... read more to the feeding area than the usual viewing point. Set up the camera and waiting for the food to be put out,
    The Kites started circling in advance, and then there was a flurry of activity followed by a lull. Then they came back, and it wasn't so frenetic, and I was able to get the best shots I've ever taken of these stupendous birds in flight. There was one who decided this touchdown-grab-go was a waste of time so settled on the grass to eat! Although we'd had dire weather for our two week Scottish holiday it came good for the Argaty visit, which made all the difference,
    Will have to do it again, by which time I will have further improved my skills.
    It helps to have someone with you who, while you stare through the lens, can hive you information about incoming birds and their trajectory!
    I'd recommend Agarty Red Kites for families, but not the photography hide unless the children were really interested.

    star rating  My wife and I attended, along with our son in law. We were in the 3 person hide to take photographs. We were made to feel very welcome, we’re given... read more clear advice. We had great views of the kites and managed some pictures, the biggest problem being our own skills!

  • star rating  Had a fantastic time going up the hills and seeing the wildlife on the "Niall's on wheels" buggy tour. Lovely area and hilarious/ very interesting tour guide. Would highly recommend... read more to anyone in the area, especially if you're as pleased by sheep dogs, squirrels, and history as I am. Niall was very kind and willing to accommodate different interests which was great.

    star rating  What a fabulous couple of hours! 40-50 red kites circled above, occasionally swooping to grab some meat, as my family and I watched spellbound. Argaty is a lovely place,... read more with the only noises being made by wildlife.

    I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to sit and be amazed by nature.

    Once everyone had arrived it was time for the main event so we headed up to the hide, a short walk up from the carpark. The food was put out for the Kites in a field just opposite the hide, but it was raining heavily so it took a bit of time for them to come out, one or two started circling. While we were waiting it gave our guide a great opportunity to fill us in on lots of information about the Kites, she was very knowledgeable! When the Kites did come out, wow what a show they put on! Swooping and diving about, absolutely wonderful to see and we counted about 17 at one point. I will definitely be back!!

Beautiful surrounding countryside too, ideal for a visit and learning experience and a stroll afterwards using the nearby public pathway
